Provision New iPhone

BEFORE YOU START

Make sure you have:

  • WiFi password
  • Apple Business Manager access
  • Mosyle access
  • Verizon account access
  • The device IMEI number
  • A second phone available to test calling

🚨 Do NOT hand the phone to the user until ALL steps are complete.


STEP 1: CONFIRM DEVICE IS ASSIGNED (BEFORE TURNING ON)

1. Confirm Apple Business Manager (ABM)

  • Log into Apple Business Manager
  • Search for the device using the serial number
  • Confirm the device is assigned to Mosyle MDM

If it is NOT assigned:

  • Assign it to Mosyle before proceeding

2. Confirm Device Appears in Mosyle

  • Log into Mosyle
  • Confirm the device is listed and ready for enrollment

Do not proceed until ABM and Mosyle assignment are confirmed.


STEP 2: TURN ON DEVICE

  1. Power on the iPhone.
  2. Swipe up (or press Home button depending on model).
  3. Select language.
  4. Select region.

STEP 3: CONNECT TO WIFI

  1. Choose the correct WiFi network.
  2. Enter password.
  3. Confirm connection.

🚨 The phone MUST be connected to WiFi for MDM enrollment to trigger.


STEP 4: AUTOMATIC MDM ENROLLMENT

During setup, you should see:

“Remote Management”

This iPhone will be automatically configured by Behavioral Framework.

If you DO NOT see Remote Management:

  • Stop immediately.
  • Reset device and verify ABM assignment.

Continue through setup:

  • Follow on-screen prompts.
  • Allow device to complete configuration.



STEP 5: CONFIRM APPS INSTALL AUTOMATICALLY

Apps should begin installing automatically from Mosyle.

🚨 DO NOT MOVE FORWARD until:

  • All required apps finish installing
  • No apps are stuck loading

If apps are not installing:

  • Confirm WiFi connection
  • Confirm device appears in Mosyle dashboard

STEP 6: ENROLL DEVICE IN VERIZON (USING IMEI)

1. Get the IMEI

Go to:

  • Settings → General → About
  • Scroll down to find IMEI

Copy the IMEI number exactly.


2. Add Device to Verizon

Use the IMEI to:

  • Activate the line
  • Assign phone number
  • Confirm eSIM is provisioned

STEP 7: CONFIRM VERIZON ACTIVATION

VERY IMPORTANT

  1. From another phone, call the new device’s number.
  2. Confirm the phone rings.
  3. Answer the call.
  4. Confirm audio works both ways.

Also test:

  • Outgoing call
  • Cellular data (turn off WiFi and test Safari)

STEP 8: RESET PHONE (KEEP eSIM)

After confirming:

  • Mosyle enrollment ✔
  • Apps installed ✔
  • Verizon activated ✔

Now reset the device for the user.


How to Reset BUT Keep eSIM:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone
  4. Tap Erase All Content and Settings
  5. When prompted, choose:

“Keep eSIM and Erase Data”

🚨 DO NOT select “Delete eSIM”

Confirm reset.


STEP 9: FINAL USER SETUP

After reset:

  1. Power on device.
  2. Connect to WiFi.
  3. MDM enrollment will trigger again.
  4. Hand device to user to complete login.
