Setting Up Okta Verify and FastPass

Overview

Okta Verify is a mobile app that adds an extra layer of security when you sign in to company applications. After entering your username and password, Okta Verify confirms your identity through a push notification, a one-time code, or a biometric prompt on your phone. Setting it up takes just a few minutes.

Okta FastPass is a passwordless authentication method that lets you sign in to your organization's apps and resources quickly and securely using biometrics (Touch ID) or your device PIN. Once enrolled, you can bypass password entry for supported applications.

This guide walks you through setting up Okta Verify as well as enabling FastPass from the Okta sign-in page.

Please follow this guide: How to Verify your Okta Verify and FassPass Setup to verify if Okta Verify and FastPass are already set up.

What if I get a new phone?

You will need to re-enroll Okta Verify on the new device by repeating this setup process. Enrollment does not transfer between devices. Contact IT Support if you need your old enrollment removed.

Yes. You can add your account to multiple devices. Open Okta Verify on the new device and follow the enrollment steps again.

You can set up Okta Verify using the sign-in URL method directly on your phone. Open the app, tap "No, sign in instead," and enter your organization's sign-in URL (login.behavioralframework.com) manually.

Does FastPass replace my password entirely? FastPass lets you sign in without typing your password for supported apps. Your Okta password still exists and may be required in certain situations, such as signing in on a new or unregistered device.

Is FastPass secure on Apple Silicon Macs? Yes. FastPass uses the Secure Enclave built into Apple Silicon chips to store private keys. These keys never leave the device, making them resistant to phishing and credential theft.
